As far as I know, if you take your time, write a good script and make a good film, then give the audience time, they will accept it.

If you want something from an audience, you give blood to their fantasies. It’s the ultimate hustle.

In the South, it is different, they have a audience that is literate.

That was the crossover line for us, to be able to play that many shows, sell them out real quick and have that tribe queue up outside and still be a mystery to everybody else.

The producers felt that 24 would be good for the audience, to really get to know who these 12 and 12 are.

My idea is always to reach my generation. The wise writer writes for the youth of his own generation, the critics of the next, and the schoolmasters of ever afterward.

We’d go to the fraternity house. It was a good place to practice. But we really wanted the kids to overhear us. And whoever heard us would go nuts over it.

So it’s one of those things where we have to – our problem is pacing ourselves and still reaching a large enough number of our audience. Because we don’t want to burn the audience. And we don’t want to be excluding anybody.

It’s great to be able to get up there now and do an hour or 75 minutes of songs they’re familiar with.
